"Plant a tree" campaign is organized by Public Environmental Centre for Sustainable Development (PECSD). 

PESCD organises the actions for planting with a support of the local forestry office. The forestry determines the terrains for planting and gives the trees. PECSD popularises the idea and raises funds for transport and food for the participants in the actions. 

PECSD is a non-governmental organisation, set up with an aim to support the processes of sustainable development within the system "man-society-environment" through giving a new meaning and revaluation of ecological, economic, ethic and health aspects of life in Bulgaria. 

The main goals of PECSD include support of the environmental education, informing community for ecological problems, mobilizing citizen participation, demonstration of practices, leading to environmental protection and sustainable development, development of successful methods for elimination of environmental damages, as well as for prevention of possible future environmental and public health damages, participation in popularisation and implementation of principles, ideas and achievements in the field of the environmental protection and development of environmentally friendly society.  

PECSD is an association, registered at the Ministry of Justice as public benefit entity.
